Welcome to the Mrs. Judy Araujo website!
The purpose of this website is to support parents, teachers, and caregivers in teaching children to read and write with confidence. It has been a labor of love since May 2012, and over the years, I have continually updated it with new tips, strategies, and methods I learn along the way. My goal is to make the science of reading accessible, practical, and easy to use for anyone working with young learners.
In addition to my teaching tips, I have curated the best free resources online—everything from decodable passages, reader’s theater, worksheets, and lesson ideas to videos and interactive tools—to assist parents and educators in creating engaging, effective literacy instruction at home or in the classroom.
All of my teaching methods are grounded in the science of reading, so you can feel confident that the strategies I share are research-based and designed to help children develop strong foundational reading and writing skills.
I have been a certified teacher in the Boston, MA area since May 1990, and over the decades, I have had the privilege of helping thousands of children learn to read. This experience informs everything I do here, from my explanations of phonics and spelling rules to practical guidance for teaching tricky concepts.
My individual pages (for example, Spelling Rules and Generalizations) are available as editable Word documents. You can get an editable copy of any page for $9. My most popular pages are available as instant downloads in my store. For other resources, you can pay via the PayPal button, and I will email the document directly to you.
Purchase any page for $9 using the PayPal link and email me the name of the page you would like. I will send it to you ASAP. Visit my store for instant downloads of my most popular pages.
I also share my Amazon recommendations on various pages. I am an Amazon Associate, but these are products I personally use, trust, and believe in, and I hope they can help you in your teaching journey.
Finally, donations are always appreciated. Your support helps maintain and update this independent website, keeping it a reliable and free resource for parents and teachers everywhere.

I am always happy to answer your literacy questions, provide guidance on reading and writing challenges, or share ideas to make learning more engaging. Your success—and the success of the children you teach—are why I continually grow and evolve this resource every year.
Enjoy!
